The orchestra were delighted to announce the hiring of Joe Davies as musical director in the December of 2022, looking forward to the exciting projects that he has planned for our wonderful musicians.

At the end of the 21/22 season, our director Tony Ayres has stepped back from his role of musical director. The orchestra was incredibly grateful for having him guide us through the two turbulent seasons after covid had hit the country, during which the orchestra has grown and flourished, so thank you very much Tony.

In March 2022 our concert as part of the City of Culture took place, celebrating the rich musical history of the city, including a specially commissioned piece. This was the last concert of our season and we are now looking forward to working on our next concerts in the coming season. See our concerts page for more details.

We once again took part in the NSPCC and Coventry Cathedral Chorus Christmas concert in December 2021.

The orchestra celebrated its 60th anniversary during 2021, coinciding with the Coventry City of Culture 2021.

In September 2020, Tony Ayres took over as musical director of the orchestra. After running online rehearsals during pandemic restrictions, we have been running face to face rehearsals in our new home at the Ellen Terry building, Coventry University on Friday nights.
